Vaccinations & Health

Protecting your health while in Ghana is our top priority. Please ensure you have the following vaccinations and health precautions in place before your trip:

  • Yellow Fever: Ghana requires proof of yellow fever vaccination for all travelers. You must get this at least 10 days before your trip.
  • Malaria Prevention: CDC recommends that travelers take prescription medicine to prevent malaria. Depending on the medication, you will need to start taking it several days before your trip, as well as during and after. Consult your doctor about which malaria medication is right for you.
  • COVID-19: Individuals arriving in Ghana by air must present a negative COVID-19 PCR test conducted by an accredited laboratory in the country of origin no more than 72 hours prior to departure.
  • Recommended Vaccinations: Hepatitis A and B, Typhoid, Tetanus-diphtheria, and Meningitis are also recommended for travelers to Ghana.

We recommend scheduling an appointment with a travel health specialist at least 4-6 weeks before your departure to ensure you have all necessary vaccinations and medications.
